To provide a unified preparation method of dimethyl ether using biomass, wherein mixed gas produced through effective gasification of the biomass is used and the biomass is converted into dimethyl ether at a high conversion rate.
In the preparation method of dimethyl ether using the biomass, the biomass is thermochemically decomposed into hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, which are used for synthesizing dimethyl ether. The preparation method comprises a biomass gasification step wherein the biomass is thermochemically decomposed through reaction with steam, a mixed gas purification step wherein tar contained in the mixed gas of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide generated in the biomass gasification step is removed by using activated carbon within a temperature range of 150-500°C (423-773 K) and a dimethyl ether synthesis step wherein the purified mixed gas is subjected to reaction on a dimethyl ether synthesizing catalyst to synthesize dimethyl ether.
