Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a high-grade polyaminotriazine effectively by subjecting a specified tetramethylpiperidone and a specified diamine to reductive alkylamination and polycondensing the product with a specified dichlorotriazine.
CONSTITUTION: 1.5-2.0mol of a tetramethylpiperidone represented by formula I (wherein R1 is H or methyl) and 1mol of a diamine represented by the formula: NH2-R-NH2 (wherein R is 2-12 C linear or branched alkylene) are subjected to reductive alkylamination at 50-100°C in the presence of a reduction and hydrogenation catalyst, and the crude product as such is reacted with 0.75-1mol of a dichlorotriazine represented by formula II [wherein Q is -NHR4 (wherein R4 is 1-12 C alkyl, 3-12 C alkoxyalkyl, 4-12 C N,N-dialkylaminoalkyl, 3-5 C alkenyl or the like), 1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutylamino or the like] in the present of an inorganic base in an aromatic solvent to obtain a polyaminotriazine represented by formula III (wherein n is 2-20; X1 to X4 are each H or a group of formula I, and at least 75mol% of them are piperidyl groups).
