Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prolong the service life of a die and to prevent galling of a die due to a sliding action between a sleeve and a pair of punch by covering with a specific material the circumferential surface of a shaft part, edge of the fixed face of the shaft and both end faces of a metallic sleeve and thereby making these surfaces hard to corrode.
CONSTITUTION: The press die is such that a pair of punches 20, 30 is provided with metallic shafts 22, 32 and the ceramics heads 24, 34 fixed on the shafts; and that those circumferential surfaces of the shafts 22, 32 that are insertable into the sleeve are covered with a ceramic layer 26, 36. Additionally, the fixed face of the shaft 22 that is in contact with the ceramics head 24 is covered with ceramics layer at the edge. Moreover, both end faces 12u, 12v of the metallic sleeve 12 are covered with ceramics layer 16, 18.
