To provide a press forming method capable of controlling deformation caused by spring back of a press-formed product without changing a fundamental shape of an entire press die.
An extra folded portion 6 having a plurality of recessed portions 6a with an increased peripheral length is provided on a corresponding portion 4a of a curved portion applied with elongation forming to a primary forming product 1a, prior to press forming including elongation forming. Elongated deformation following a blank holding face of the die is easily controlled by increasing a peripheral length of the corresponding portion 4a of the curved portion by elongation of the extra folded portion 6 in press forming. Consequently, deformation caused by springback after press forming is effectively controlled.
