PURPOSE: To prevent a double thread from being rolled in when rewinding is resumed after two threads which are to be connected together have been connected, by fixing a part of a thread guide 1 which has branched off from a seam, apart from a regular thread guide which continues inclusive of the seam.

CONSTITUTION: When it is detected 8 that a thread Y1 being rewound from a bobbin B to a package P has been cut or the bobbin B has been emptied, a drum 9 stops. A relay pipe 10 and a suction mouth 11 suck a thread end from chain line positions 10a, 11a and turn and move, and threads YB, YP on the bobbin B side and package P side intersect and are connected at a thread connecting device 12 and it is led to the outer part of the device 12 and stops. After the suction mouth 11 has operated, within a predetermined time until the relay pipe 10 operates, the thread YP is led to a guide near the detection device 8 and inserted into a groove, and after a seam has been checked by the detection device 8, the thread YB is sucked into the relay pipe 10. Next, rewinding is resumed by a drum 9 and the package P. As a result, the double rolling in of the thread is prevented.
