Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject therapeutic agent effective for atherosclerosis caused by Chlamydia pneumoniae, showing specifically inhibitory action on proliferation of Chlamydia pneumoniae, comprising a specific tranilast as an active ingredient.
SOLUTION: This therapeutic agent comprises 2-(3,4-dimethoxycinnamoyl) aminobenzoic acid of the formula or its pharmacologically permissible or its pharmacologically permissible solvate as an active ingredient. When the active ingredient is used, solvate as an active ingredient. When the active ingredient is used, the daily dose of 100-1,000mg per adjust is preferably administered orally.
