Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a printer having a staple function, and to enhance operability.
SOLUTION: When a user assigns a position of a staple or punch hole, a stapling/punching position is determined in response to a set paper sheet size when the paper sheet size is set (step S401), and the position is displayed as choices (step S402). The user is required to select a desired position out of the choices (step S403), and the selected position is displayed together with an image of a paper sheet shape for indicating a lay-out of the paper sheet, a direction of a printing data, and a binding direction (step S404). The choices are displayed on the image at last (step S405). The stapling/punching position set by this manner is transmitted to the printer when printed.
