Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer eliminating situation in which printing cannot be resumed due to sticking of ink adhering to a discharge head.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a discharge head 32 discharging droplets onto a recording medium S being supported by a medium support section 27 and transported in a transportation direction; a head moving section 39 reciprocating the discharge head in a main scanning direction intersecting with the transportation direction; a cap section 34 being provided at a first end side in the main scanning direction and capping the discharge head; and gap changing means 40 enlarging a gap between the medium support section and the discharge head at a second end side of an opposite side to the cap section in the main scanning direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
