Abstract:
To provide a printer and a printing method which can properly press a platen roller against a print head and separate the platen roller from the print head.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a print head 121 which performs printing on a tape; a platen roller 122 which conveys the tape PT with the rotation in such a state that the tape PT is held between the print head 121 and itself; a support part 123 which rotatably supports the platen roller 122; and a cam 124 which has a first guide part 1242 that releases pressing of the platen roller 122 against the print head 121 and a second guide part 1243 that presses the platen roller 122 against the print head 121.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
