Abstract:
To improve the data transfer efficiency to a printer.SOLUTION: A printer 110 comprises: a font storage unit 62 which stores image information of a plurality of characters including one or more character sizes respectively in association with character codes allocated to the plurality of characters; a decision unit 51 which decides the character size on the basis of the character code received from a host device 1; a reading unit 70 which reads out from the font storage unit image information of the character corresponding to the character size decided by the decision unit on the basis of the character code received from the host device; and a printing unit 80 which prints characters allocated with the character codes received from the host device by using the image information of the character read out by the reading unit. With this, the data transfer efficiency to the printer can be improved by printing the characters allocated with the received character codes in the character size decided by the decision unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
