Abstract:
To provide a printer that prevents waste ink from leaking from a waste ink storage without adding any complicated configuration.
The printer includes: a print head for ejecting an ink; a sucker for sucking the ink from the print head; an absorber for accommodating the waste ink sucked from the print head by the sucker; and a control unit for controlling the sucker. The printer is provided with a calculation unit for calculating the absorption speed of the absorber. The control unit is configured to prevent the sucker from sucking any ink when the calculated absorption speed by the calculation unit is less than the speed of the waste ink discharged by sucking.
