To prevent occurrence of wrinkles on a printed sheet after printing, in a printing apparatus configured to temporarily store a paper sheet on which printing is performed by one printing means in a storage part and then convey the paper sheet to another printing means by a paper sheet re-feeding means.
The printing apparatus includes a first printing means 3 for performing printing on one surface of the paper sheet P, a storage part 4 for temporarily storing the paper sheet P on which printing has been performed, a second printing means 5 for performing printing on one surface or the other surface of the paper sheet P while pressing the paper sheet P to a plate surface 51a, and a paper sheet re-feeding means 83 for conveying the paper sheet P with the printing performed on the one surface from the storage part 4 to the second printing means 5 and successively conveying the paper sheet P with the second printing means 5 for at least a certain period. The printer is also provided with a speed control means to set paper sheet conveying speed v1 of the paper sheet re-feeding means 83 to a value equal to that of a paper sheet conveying speed v2 of the second printing means 5 at a point of time when paper sheet pressing on the plate surface is started, and then reduce the speed to a value lower that of the speed v2.
