Abstract:
PURPOSE:To use a single printing apparatus both for relief printing and for gravure printing, by mounting a form plate of relief printing and that of gravure printing in the same printing cylinder with or without an adjusting means intervened therebetween, and adjusting the diameter of the plate surface and the diameter of an impression cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When a gravure-printed paper is desired to be relief-printed, a form plate for gravure printing is removed from a cylinder 5, and a form plate for relief printing is provided in the removed cylinder 5. Then, an ink roller 22 in an ink reservoir 21 used for gravure printing is separated away from the surface of the cylinder. Instead, an applicator 20 for gravure printing is brought into contact with the form plate of relief printing to feed the ink thereto. Thus, a paper inserted between the cylinder 5 and an impression cylinder 4 is printed through relief printing. Meanwhile, when gravure printing is required, the cylinder 5 is mounted with the form plate necessary for gravure printing. The ink roller 22 in the ink reservoir 21 containing gravure printing ink is brought into contact with the plate surface to heap the ink. The surplus of the ink is removed by a doctor 23. Thus, a paper inserted between the impression cylinder 4 and the printing cylinder 5 is gravure-printed, which is in turn dried by a drier 12.
