To provide a compact printing device which is composed simply and can be easily used by being attached into an existing packing machine or the like.

The printing device has a supply reel 14 for supplying a tape for printing, a withdrawal reel 16 for collecting tapes after printed, a type supporting block 20 mounted to be able to advance and retreat at a halfway position of the tape moved between the supply reel and the withdrawal reel, a driving part 30 for driving to advance and retreat the type supporting block between a print position and a retracting position, a one-way clutch 40 which is set between the print position and the withdrawal reel, always pinches the tape 12 with pressure between a guide rail 48 and the clutch, and is driven to rotate in the direction to postpone the tape 12 to the withdrawal reel 16 only when the type supporting block moves to retreat, synchronously with the advancement/retreat of the type supporting block, and a turnable mechanism for pivoting the withdrawal reel 16 with the one-way clutch 40.
