Abstract:
To improve responsiveness to a medium.SOLUTION: A printer 1 comprises: a tray part 40 for retaining cloth 400 which is a medium; and printing means 10 for printing on the cloth 400 retained by the tray part 40. The printing means 10 has a carriage 11 which has a plurality of heads 20 installed thereon and can make a round trip. The tray part 40 has a platen member 41 which serves as a support part for supporting the cloth 400. The platen member 41 is placed between side plates 42A and 42B, supported by a shaft 43 that serves as the axis of rotation, so that it can make a round trip within the scope of a printing area Pa.
