To achieve highly precise printing by remarkably improving durability of plate material, especially adhesion of a layer exhibiting a photocatalytic function to base material to remarkably improving the durability of the whole plate material and enhancing the photocatalytic function to increase productivity, in printing plate material using the photocatalytic function.
In this printing plate material 6 and manufacturing method tehreof, the surface layer of the base material 1 itself is reformed into an oxidized layer 4 exhibiting the photocatalytic function by heating treatment, fine particles 2 exhibiting the photocatalytic function are burnt on the surface of the oxidized layer 4, and the fine particles are coated with a layer 5 containing a hydrophobic compound and decomposable by the photocatalytic function.
