To provide a printing system having a high operability when resource data is selected, a printing method and a program.

The printing system has an input means to input data stored in a removable memory through a prescribed channel, a storage means to store the index of the resource data, a menu retrieval means to retrieving the menu of the resource data, a menu display means (S125) to display a menu called on the basis of the index, a selection means to select resource data by operating the menu retrieved and a printing means (S145) to perform printing on the basis of the resource data selected. Furthermore, the system has an index preparation means (S110 and S115) searching the resource data in advance through a plurality of channels including the channel leading to the input means before the menu is retrieved by the menu retrieving means, and preparing or updating the index of the resource data searched.
