This unit comprises a sending-out shaft 30 and a winding-up shaft 31 for supplying an intermediate transfer ribbon 28 comprising a transfer layer having a first area with a predetermined pattern and a patternless transparent second area, a printing part 3 for printing predetermined information onto the transfer layer of the supplied intermediate transfer ribbon 28, and a transfer part 4 for transferring the printed predetermined information onto a medium to be transferred 1 together with the transfer layer, wherein the printing part 3 and the transfer part 4 are controlled independently with each other in a first mode for covering the entirety of the medium to be transferred 1 with the first area and a second mode for covering the member to be transferred 1 with the first area and the second area.
