Abstract:
To provide an improved process for the preparation of a hydrogenated nitrile rubber.
The corrosion occurring at a plant apparatus for preparing the hydrogenated nitrile rubber is caused by the unexpected presence of a relatively larger amount of hydrogen chloride(HCl) which is produced by dehydrohalogenation of monochlorobenzene of the solvent during the reaction. Thus, this serious problem gets small by adding a suitably, weak-basic additive such as an epoxydized soybean oil(ESBO) to the reaction mixture.
