To provide a process release paper having both faces subjected to release treatment and to be suitably used for especially a process release paper for prepreg, which prevents an adherend from being separated non-uniformly, has release selectivity to separate a selected face of the paper, has uniform releasability to stably remove the adherend, prevents blister even when exposed to a high-temperature process, has no unevenness of the release layer, prevents pinhole defects, and has excellent recyclability and dimensional stability to temperature change without using a hardly decomposable paper base such as glassine paper.
The process release paper includes coating layers containing a pigment and a binder and applied to both faces of a paper substrate, and releasing agent layers formed on the coating layers. One surface of the coating layer contains at least a plate pigment and amorphous silica as a pigment, and the other face of the coating layer contains at least a plate pigment as a pigment. The releasing strength difference between both faces of the coating layer is 20-200 gf/40 mm.
