To provide a processing method for a silver halide color photographic sensitive material which has excellent photographic performance and is less flawed without impairment of transportability in processing of plural tank constitution having roller pair covering means.

A photosensitive material is processed by immersing the material into processing tanks for silver halide photographic sensitive material having the plural processing tanks which are installed along the transporting direction of the photosensitive material and in which a processing liquid having processability, processing liquid having desilverization function and washing and/or stabilizing processing liquid are respectively stored. The processing device has partition sections. The partition sections have enclosing sections 18, 60 in common use as partitions which partition the processing tanks 24, 26 from each other and enclose the openings allowing the passage of the photosensitive material, roller pairs 54, 56 which are installed near the openings and are capable of applying transporting force on the photosensitive material by coming into contact with the photosensitive material passing the openings and the shielding means 74, 76 which shield the spacing between the roller pairs and the enclosing sections in common use as the partitions.
