PURPOSE: To advantageously produce acleacin A acylase by culturing a transformant bacterium having a vector containing adventitious DNA to code a specific amino acid sequence in a medium.
CONSTITUTION: A bacterium belonging to the genus Streptomyces is used as a host, a transformant bacterium having a vector containing adventitious DNA to code acleacin A acylase is cultured in a medium to manifest genetic information of the DNA. Then acleacin A acylase is collected from the culture mixture. Phage vector or cosmid vector capable of cloning much larger DNA fragment is preferable as the vector. Acleacin A acylase in the culture mixture is collected from a culture solution containing cells as it is and directly used. Generally, λacleacin A acylase is separated from the culture mixture by a conventional procedure, separated and used.
