To realize a production process for an adduct of an amine to an α,β-unsaturated compound, useful in medical and cosmetic preparations, detergent and cleaning compositions and the like, promptly in high yield by carrying out the addition reaction of an amine to an α,β-unsaturated compound in the presence of a specific compound.
In the presence of an inorganic salt or an oxide of an element of the lanthanide series, an amine of formula II (Xa and Xb are each H, a substituent) is added to an α,β-unsaturated compound of formula I (R1-R3 are each H, a substituent; Q is nitrile, carboxyl, sulfonyl, acyl, nitro) to give an amine of formula III. Alternatively in the presence of an inorganic salt or an oxide of an element of the lanthanide series, a diamide of formula IV (W1 and W2 are each an alkyl, an aryl; D is a single bond, O, S; v is 0-3; w is 1-3) is added to an α,β-unsaturated compound of formula I to give a diamide of formula V (X1-X4 are each H). A compound of the lanthanide series is, for example, lanthanum chloride, lanthanum oxide and the amount of the catalyst is 1-200 mole % based on the compound of the formula I, when water is used as a solvent.
