Title:
PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM SUBSTRATE FOR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTORECEPTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3873520
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a substrate which has decreased surface flaws, is uniform in the thickness of an anodically oxidized film and has decreased defects by anodizing the substrate after ironing, then cutting the end of this substrate.
SOLUTION: After the cylindrical aluminum substrate is anodized, the end (may be one end or both ends) of the substrate is cut. Namely, the substrate is anodized after the ironing and thereafter, the end of the substrate is cut in this production process. In the ironing, a punch 3 is inserted into an extruded pipe 6 to iron the extruded pipe 6 and this pipe is elongated, by which the substrate is produced. In such a case, fats and oils are applied to the tube in order to prevent the excess heat generation during the ironing. The fats and oils having a relatively high viscosity and low volatility are usually used for the fats and oils and, therefore, there is a need for removing the fats and oils by cleaning after the ironing. The cleaning is preferably executed by using water as a solvent as the cleaning method.
