Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus and a process for coal-water slurry production capable of suppressing the viscosity of a prepared slurry below an allowable level, increasing a coal concentration, at the same time reducing a necessary energy of production and controlling the coal concentration while keeping the production at a constant level.
CONSTITUTION: This production apparatus is composed of a coarse-particle separating means to separate coarse particles in a slurry discharged from a ball mill, a mixer to mix and adjust the fine-particle slurry after the separation of the coarse particles and a controlling unit to control the supplying amount of coal, water and a dispersing agent. The controlling is performed by comparing the signals from a water-content meter, a coal weight measuring means, a water-flow meter and a dispersing agent-flow meter with each other, calculating the amounts of the coal, water and dispersing agent required for the concentration adjustment while keeping the production of the coal-water slurry at a constant level based on the prescribed production amount of coal-water slurry and coal concentration, and finally setting the signals corresponding to the result of this calculation.
