Title:
PRODUCTION OF ARTIFICIAL LEATHER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3115039
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain through unconventional, extremely simple process an artificial leather excellent in mechanical strength, softness and cushioning characteristics by coating a base sheet with an ionized radiation-setting coating foamable simultaneously with curing followed by curing along with foaming.
CONSTITUTION: A base sheet (e.g. release paper, woven fabric, nonwoven fabric) is coated with an ionized radiation-setting coating crosslinkingly polymerizable and curable by electron beam or ultraviolet-light irradiation, containing e.g. a monofunctional monomer such as (meth)acrylic ester or (meth)acrylamide and a foaming agent such as nitropentamethylenetetramine or diazoaminobenzene, followed by e.g. electron beam irradiation to effect curing along with foaming of the coating layer followed by, when needed, peeling off the base sheet.
