Abstract:
To provide a process for the production of an artificial Tatami facing without causing the problems such as the generation of flare and whitening by using an innovative loom having high efficiency.
An artificial Tatami facing is woven by using an innovative shuttle or rapier loom and continuously supplying artificial rush as a weft. In the above process, an artificial. Tatami facing larger than 1 jo (about 90 cm×180 cm) can be produced by successively delaying the vertical motion of warp-opening heald frames from the middle part of the facing toward both edges without gripping both ends of the weft until the beating work is completed.
