PURPOSE: To prevent the decrease in yield owing to mis-trimming and to eliminate trouble owing to a camber by making beforehand the prescribed length at the top and tail parts of a coil larger than in the central part by as much as the amt. meeting the camber in the stage of rolling said coil.
CONSTITUTION: The width at the top and tail parts of a coil are made larger by about 10mm than in the central part of the coil and are made into a tapered shape spreading toward the end. The apparent camber of a preceding coil C is E-F'-G'-H in the stage of joining the coil c and a succeeding coil D but the coil is rolled to have the broad end and therefore the camber is actually shaped to E-F-G-H. Thus, the E-F-G-H is positioned outer than the trimming in the position U, V whereby the deviation in trimming is obviated and the fluctuation in the outside circumference, etc. and trouble owing to the camber are eliminated.
