Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the present copolymer outstanding in transparency and heat and impact resistances, useful for lighting covers, etc., by incorporating a thermoplastic condensation polymer with an unsaturated monomer and heating followed by addition polymerization of a vinyl unsaturated monomer. CONSTITUTION:(A) A thermoplastic condensation polymer dissolved in an inert solvent is incorporated with (B) an amino- or imino group-contg. unsaturated monomer followed by heating to perform reaction followed by incorporation of (C) a vinyl unsaturated monomer to carry out polymerization, thus obtain the objective copolymer. Preferably, the component A is selected from aromatic polycarbonates, aromatic polyesters and aromatic polyestercarbonates, whereas the component C is, e.g., styrene, alpha-methylstyrene.
