PURPOSE: To obtain a composition for feed, resistant to thermal degradation and having excellent stability and powder properties at a low cost, by converting a solution containing a specific amount of tryptophan or threonine to a semi- dried granule by spray-drying, depositing the granules in the form of a mat and drying with hot air to a specific water-content.
CONSTITUTION: A (concentrated) solution containing 5W95%, preferably 20W60% tryptophan or threonine (based on the solid component in the solution), e.g. culture medium for microorganisms, eluate from adsorption resin, etc., is spray-dried to obtain granules of semi-dried state. The granules are deposited in the form of a mat and dried with hot air (preferably using a filter mat drier) to obtain the objective granular composition for feed having a water-content of ≤4%.
