Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject polymer enhanced in photoluminescence and electroluminescence efficiency and used for solid-state light-emitting elements, or the like, by thermally converting a precursor polymer at a specified temperature in the presence of a forming gas to suppress the formation of carbonyl groups.
CONSTITUTION: The objective polymer represented by formula II, enhanced in photoluminescence and electroluminescence efficiency, and used for solid-state light-emitting elements or the like is obtained by spin-coating a precursor polymer represented by formula I [wherein R1 is benzene, a substituted benzene, anthracene, naphthalene, an alkyl-substituted benzene, an alkoxyl-substituted benzene, or a five-membered heterocyclic group; R2 and R4 are each H or phenyl; and R3 is an organic group which can be released at a high temperature to leave a double bond or OR5 (wherein R5 is H or methyl)] to form a thin film on a substrate such as fused quartz glass, a silicon wafer, or indium tin oxide coated glass and thermally converting the thin film at a temperature in the range from 150 to 300°C in the presence of a forming gas comprising 85% nitrogen and 15% hydrogen.
