Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as a drug, agricultural chemical, dye or an intermediate for dye, by reacting an NH-containing heterocyclic compound with an aromatic sulfonic acid alkyl ester containing -O- bond in the presence of a specific amount of an alkali under a mild condition.
CONSTITUTION: An NH-containing heterocyclic compound such as pyrrole, indole, carbazole, etc., is reacted with an aromatic sulfonic acid alkyl ester containing an ether bond at the β-position in the presence of ≥an equimolar amount of an alkali based on the heterocyclic compound to give an N-substituted heterocyclic derivative (e.g. 1-phenoxyethyl-2-methylindole, etc.).
