PURPOSE: To manufacture a homogeneous high silicon steel sheet excellent in magnetic properties without generating segregation caused by Al or the like and remarkable voids undesirable from the viewpoint of magnetic properties in the method for manufacturing a high silicon steel sheet by siliconizing treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A silicon steel sheet contg., by weight, ≤4.0% Si is used as stock, and siliconizing treatment is executed by controlling the reacting conditions thereof in such a manner that, as for the steel sheet with 0.2mm sheet thickness (t), siliconizing velocity Vsi (g/m2.min) satisfying 0.6/t2<Vsi<1.4/ t2 is regulated and, as for the steel sheet with <0.2mm sheet thickness (t), siliconizing velocity Vsi (g/m2.min) satisfying Vsi<1.4/t2 is regulated.
