Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hollow polybenzazole fiber, excellent in heat and environmental resistances and having a uniform film thickness in the fiber cross-section and to produce the hollow polybenzazole fiber obtained by the method.
SOLUTION: This method for producing a hollow polybenzazole fiber comprises using a double tube type orifice containing each inner tube for extruding a hollow-forming medium through an interval in a spinneret and further comprises a step for extruding a spinning dope containing a polybenzazole and an acid through each dope orifice formed between the spinneret and the inner tube while extruding the hollow-forming medium through the hollow- forming orifice formed in the inner tube. The hollow-forming medium extruded through the hollow-forming orifice is filled in the central part of the dope filament extruded through the dope orifice and the opened end of the inner tube is located near the opened end of the spinneret. A fixed part for fixing the inner tube to the spinneret is located on the deep side of the spinneret.
