Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compd. useful as an intermediate in a good yield with a short process by bringing an amidating agent into reaction with O1-p-nitrobenzyl-N2-benzyloxycarbonyl-2,6-diaminopimelic acid of L, L, or D, D, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The N6-benzyloxycarbonyl-2,6-diaminopimelamic acid of formula of L, L or D, D or racemic forms is obtd. by bringing the amidating agent into reaction with the O1-p-nitrobenzyl-N2-benzyloxycarbonyl-2,6-diaminopimelic acid of L, L, or D, D or racemic form. The amidation is generally executed in the presence of a water-immiscible solvent, such as toluene or methylene chloride, by using an aq. ammonia soln. at a temp. around 20°C.
