Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing a perfluorinated ether from an incompletely fluorinated ether without using expensive antimony pentafuoride.
CONSTITUTION: A perfluorinated ether represented by formula I (R-CF2-CF3) {in formula I, R is a group CF3(CF2)2-O-[CF(CF3)CF2-O]n-, where (n) is an integer from 0 to 60} is produced from a compound represented by formula II {R-[CF (CF3)CF2-O-]CHF-CF3} by heating the compound of formula II at 150-350°C in the presence of at least one of AlCl3, AlBr3, and AlF3.
