In the production of polycarbonate by polycondensing a mixture mainly containing an aromatic diol compound and a carbonic diester, the pipe joint for connecting the pipeline for sending the reaction mixture has the heat resistance of ≥150°C, exhibits substantially zero leakage under a vacuum of ≤40,000×10-6 MPa, is ≥0.1 MP in the pressure resistance and has a liquid contact part constituted of a material having the corrosion resistance against a monohydroxy compound produced by the reaction of the aromatic diol compound with the carbonic diester compound. And, the flange 1 (female) and the flange 2 (male), which have the heating medium jacket 3 inside, are used.
