Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing polyester filaments good in their physical properties, capable of retaining excellent wet heat resistance over a long period and capable of being suitably used for the uses of industrial materials.
SOLUTION: This for producing polyester filaments comprises successively performing the following processes 1-4. 1. A process for obtaining (A) a polyester having a relative viscosity of ≥1.4 through a solid phase polymerization reaction. 2. A process for obtaining (D) a polyolefin mixture by melting and kneading 10-90 wt.% of (B) a polyolefin resin and 90-10 wt.% of (C) a polyolefin resin having glycidyl methacrylate component. 3. A process for obtaining filaments having a carboxyl-terminated group content of ≤10 eq/t by kneading to the polyester A with 1.0-20 wt.% of the preliminarily melted and kneaded polyolefin mixture D, further adding (E) a carbodiimide compound in an amount of 0.1-5.0 wt.% based on the whole weight of the kneaded product, and subsequently melting and spinning the mixture. 4. A process for drawing the obtained filaments.
