Title:
PRODUCTION OF POLYESTER MACHINE SEWING THREAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3113162
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester machine sewing thread, having a slight torque and excellent in sewability by combining an undrawn multifilament yarn obtained at a spinning speed within a specific range with a drawn multifilament yarn and then heat-treating the resultant combined filament yarns at a specified temperature and at a constant length.
CONSTITUTION: An undrawn polyester multifilament yarn A, obtained at 2000-5000m/min spinning speed and having 0.7-4.0de, preferably 1.0-3.0de in an amount of 6-50wt.% based on the total yarn weight is combined with a polyester multifilament yarn B having 6.0-9.0/de tensile strength through an interlacing nozzle and primary twists at 900T/m are applied thereto in the S-direction to form primarily twisted single yarns. The three single yarns are then doubled and final twists rotting 700T/m are applied thereto in the Z-direction. The resultant twisted yarn is then wound on a bobbin and heat-treated in the wound state thereof at a higher temperature than the second order transition point of the yarn A and a lower temperature than a dyeing temperature, preferably 80-100°C at a constant length. The heat-treated yarn is subsequently dyed to a prescribed hue to afford the objective machine sewing thread.
