Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a cable which is stable in transmission characteristic without kinking of optical fibers by guiding the optical fibers via rollers discretely to the position just before slots so that the optical fibers are smoothly inserted into the slots without generating mechanical contact and interference between the fibers. CONSTITUTION:Twelve pieces of the tape-shaped optical fibers (a) from a twisting machine 12 are superposed by 3 pieces each and are inserted into respective 4 slots at the optical fiber (a) inserting part 14 by which a cable core 15 is obtd. A supporting frame 18 is provided projectingly at the same axis to the hollow shaft 12a of the twisting machine 12 and the guide rollers 19 of the optical fibers (a) from the twisting machine 12 are provided to this supporting frame 18. The guide rollers 19 are so disposed as to guide the respective optical fibers (a) discretely to the position just before a traveling rod D. The respective optical fibers (a) are thereby smoothly inserted into the slots 2 without being superposed on each other just before insertion to the slots and without impairing the characteristics.
