Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently produce a highly active solid catalyst capable of polymerizing a polyolefin excellent in particle properties by treating a specific silica gel and an alkylaluminoxane under prescribed conditions.
CONSTITUTION: This solid catalyst is produced by bringing (A) a silica gel having ≥200m2/g, 0.3-3.0ml/g pore diameter and 0.1-200m average particle diameter into contact with (B) an alkylaluminoxane having 1.05-2.0 ratio of the alkyl group/Al after drying at ≥20°C under ≤100mmHg for ≥0.5hr in an amount of (a)×10-4 to [(a)×10-3+(b)×10-1]×2g [(a) is the surface area of the silica gel; (b) is the moisture content wt.%] at a temperature of a least ≥50°C and regulating the aluminum component soluble in toluene at 20°C in the solid component to ≤3wt.% without washing the resultant solid. Methylaluminoxane is used as the component (B).
