PURPOSE: To produce a sheet sheet for enameling excellent in scuffing resistance by subjecting a steel sheet obtd. by subjecting a continuously cast slab having a specified compsn. to hot and cold rolling to decarburizing and denitrifying annealing and thereafter executing skinpass rolling.

CONSTITUTION: The compsn. of a steel is constituted of the one contg., by weight, ≤0.04% C, 0.25 to 0.40% Mn, ≤0.1% P, 0.005 to 0.25% S, 0.020 to 0.1% Cu, 0.02 to 0.09% 0, ≤0.040% N and ≤0.006% B, furthermore satisfying the inequality I, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities. This steel is formed into a continuously cast slab. After that, in the case the charging temp. of the slab to a heating furnace is hot rolling is executed. This hot rolled to ≥1200°C, and charging temp. is ≥900°C, it is reheated to a ≥1200°C, and hot rolling is executed. This hot rolled steel sheet is subjected to cold rolling and is thereafter subjected to decarburizing and denitrifying annealing to regulate the C content in the steel sheet to ≤0.001% and the N content to ≤0.001%, and furthermore, skinpass rolling of l to 2% elongation percentage is executed.
