Title:
PRODUCTION OF THERMOSETTING RESIN PARTICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3543201
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing thermosetting resin particles having a narrow particle diameter distribution and especially suitable for powder coatings.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the thermosetting resin particles comprises (a) a process for suspending a liquid thermosetting resin composition containing an organic solvent as the primary particles having a number-average particle diameter of ≤10μm in an aqueous solution containing a water-soluble polymer not expressing a clouding point and a water-soluble polymer having a clouding point in a range of 30-90°C as stabilizers at a temperature below the clouding point, (b) a process for raising the temperature of the obtained suspension to a temperature above the clouding point to coagulate the primary particles into the secondary particles having a number-average particle diameter of approximately 2-20 times those of the primary particles, and (c) a process for distilling off the organic solvent contained in the secondary particles during or after the process (b).
