Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially and dominantly producing a triarylborane phosphine complex useful as a curing catalyst for epoxy resin, etc.
SOLUTION: A tetraarylborane alkali metal salt of formula (1) is reacted with an inorganic acid or an organic acid in an ether-based solvent alone or a mixed solvent of the ether-based solvent with a hydrocarbon-based solvent to produce a triarylborane represented by formula (3) and reaction solution of the resultant triarylborane represented by formula (3) is reacted with a triarylphosphine of formula (4) to produce the objective triarylborane phosphine complex represented by formula (5) (Ar and Ar', which may be the same as each other or mutually different, exhibit each an aryl group and M is an alkali metal).
