Title:
PROTEIN R5 BINDING PROTEIN PHOSPHATASE 1
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10201491
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain the subject protein R5 (PPP1R5) useful for treating many diseases (growth onset type diabetes mellitus, obesity, essential hypertension) related to resistance to the action of insulin on the synthesis of glycogen.

This human protein phosphatase I-bound subunit R5 has an amino acid sequence of the formula, relates to rat liver glycogen-bound subunit PP1, but is not a homology. The protein is obtained by isolating PPP1R5cDNA from a library originated from tumor cells such as melanocyte tumor cells and subsequently subjecting the obtained polynucleotide to a DNA recombination technology.
