Abstract:

To provide a proton conductive polymer film comprising an electrolyte film having excellent moldability while being excellent in chemical stability, mechanical properties and heat resistance, so as to put the proton conductive electrolyte film to practical use as the electrolyte of a solid polymer type fuel cell.

The proton conductive polymer film is provided by dispersing a surface-organized nano-scale clay in a proton conductive polymer. Particularly, no uniform hybrid can be achieved by using unmodified clay, and it has been found that clay may be uniformly dispersed in a matrix polymer through organizing the clay surface with a modifier.
