PURPOSE: To obtain a VA mycorrhiza bacterial preparation resistaut to drying, preservable for a long period of time at normal temperatures, thus useful for the areas such as agriculture and horticulture, etc., by immersing the spores of VA mycorrhiza bacteria in an aqueous trehalose solution followed by mixing the spores with a relevant carrier to conduct a preparation manufacturing.
CONSTITUTION: Black chalk soil is sterilized with chloropicrin and thoroughly degassed, and the resultant soil is inoculated, together with soybean seeds, with the spores of VA mycorrhiza bacteria such as Gigaspora albida separated with sieve from the soybean field in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, or Gigaspora margarita separated from the low, striped bamboo forest in the same district to raise the spores at 20-34°C for 5 months; at this point, irrigation is stopped and the spores are left to stand for 30 days followed by removing plants and recovering the spore fraction from the soil using a sieve. Next, the spores gathered are immersed in an aqueous trehalose solution followed by gathering the spores alone, which are then put into montmorillonite 800μm in particle diameter with its moisture content adjusted to 18wt.% to conduct a preparation manufacturing, thus obtaining the objective VA mycorrhiza bacterial preparation having the above-mentioned advantages.
