The invention relates to the dispersible dry powder pharmaceutical-based compositions for pulmonary delivery comprising a therapeutically effective amount of pharmaceuticals obtained by combining the pharmaceutical with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the composition includes particles in which 95 mass% mass has particle size smaller than 10 m, has a moisture content of less than about 10 wt.%, has a particle size of about 1.0-5.0 m mass median diameter (MMD), a delivered dose of about 30% or more, and an aerosol particle size distribution of about 1.0-5.0 m of mass median aerodynamic diameter (MMAD).
