Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pulp foam having easy incinerating properties in case of processing after use, containing pulp as a main raw material to have moldability, eliminating strength deficiency as a buffer material of a pulp mold, improved in the lowering of strength caused by water and usable other than the buffer material.
SOLUTION: Pulp containing regenerated pulp and a biodegradable thickener are kneaded along with a decomposable foaming agent and a surfactant by a solvent. This kneaded matter is molded into a granular form to be foamed and dried and the surfaces of the formed granules are coated with a thermoplastic resin to obtain pulp foamed beads which are, in turn, fully charged in a molding form to be heated to expand the foamable particles to melt the thermoplastic resin and these beads are solidified and bonded to be formed into an aggregate.
