Abstract:
To provide a rotary machine (26) that comprises a superconducting coil (12) and a temperature sensor (38) which is so operable as to supply a signal representing the temperature of the superconducting coil (12).
The rotary machine (26) may comprise a control system (20) which is coupled to the temperature sensor (38) for communication. The control system (20) may so operate as to reduce the current of the superconducting coil when the signal representing a specified temperature of the superconducting coil is received from the temperature sensor (38).
